Green Tara Thangka

The Green Tara was believed to be incarnated as the Nepali princess. She is considered by some to be the original Tara and is the female consort of Amoghasiddhi , one of the “self-born” Buddhas. The mantra of Green Tara is : "Om tare tuttare ture svaha"

Green is symbol of action, achievement and considered the primary color of Tara as her green manifestation is always depicted in the center of this thangka.

By singing the praise of the 21 Taras and meditating to her different emanations the practitioner distance himself from fear, fight all the negative feelings that burdens his heart and ultimately reach enlightenment.
