Avalokiteśvara / Lokesvara Thangka
Handpainted 1000 hand Lokesvara thangka with pancha buddha.
According to Mahayana teachings, Lokesvara is the boddhisatva who made a great vow to help all the sentient beings during the times of difficulty and hardship. Also, he has also vowed to postpone his own Buddhahood or Enlightenment until he has helped every sentient being to achieve Nirvana.
The panch buddha or The Five Wisdoms are five kinds of wisdoms which appear when the mind is purified of the five disturbing emotions and the natural mind appears. All of those five wisdoms are represented by one of the five buddha-families. The Five Dhyani Buddhas are icons of Mahayana Buddhism. These transcendent Buddhas are visualized in tantric meditation and appear in Buddhist iconography. The five Buddhas are Aksobhya, Amitabha, Amoghasiddhi, Ratnasaṃbhava, and Vairocana. Each represents a different aspect of enlightened consciousness to aid in spiritual transformation.
